Waste water is directed into the screen box with the inlet pipe. Here, the flow rate decreases and solid wastes are distributed homogeneously in the wastewater. Waste water reaches the inner surface of the rotating drum screen over the side weirs. The tangential passage of the drum screen creates a self-cleaning effect on the screen surface. The solids remaining in the drum screen are conveyed to the conveyor by the diverter fixed on the inner surface of the screen and are also statically dewatered. The filtrant water flows down.

It is a fine grid model used especially in open channels with less width. It can be used in domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plants and water treatment plants, as well as in process water preparation plants of many industries. The spiral channel grid consists of a cylindrical wire mesh and a spiral that cleans this grid. It can be placed at low angles according to the wastewater channels or the location of the places where it will work. Grid wire can be made as perforated or wedge-wire. During the flow, the materials held on the screen are evacuated from the screen by being compressed as well as being promoted by the screw conveyor. It works with time control, level control or both time and level control.
It is the type of grid used to reduce investment costs and save space in small-scale treatment plants. Basket grids move to the desired distance with the wall-mounted skid system. In this way, the problems that may arise from the difference in elevation are eliminated. While the waste water is passing through the screen, the solids it contains cannot pass and are kept in the basket. Depending on the amount of solid matter that comes with the wastewater, it is cleaned by pulling up from the skid system. SONDEN manufactures basket grids as standard in stainless steel and optionally in hot dip galvanized or epoxy coated carbon steel.<br>
The sieves used to hold the solids in the wastewater will not only reduce the load of the treatment plant, but also improve the working conditions of the pump and other mechanical equipment in the facility. The difference of the screens from the grids is that the openings used for water passage are much smaller. A much more effective gliding is achieved with openings down to 0.25 mm. Surface cleaning in static sieves is done by utilizing the energy of waste water.
The coarse and fine wastes held by the grids still contain water in their structure. Grid principles developed to reduce water contents and volumes simply work as follows; Solid wastes kept in the grids are transported by conveyor or poured directly from the grid milk and come to the grid press. The auger inside the grill press drags the grill wastes to the outlet. In the meantime, the required pressure is provided by the weight and friction of the solid materials accumulating in the discharge pipe. Meanwhile, the filtered water is poured into the drip pan through the drainage holes and discharged from there.
